Hello my name is Charkii

I’m a premium compact stainless steel braai — tough as nails and built to last. Made from solid 304 stainless steel with a 316 food-grade grill, I can handle the heat and then some.

But let’s be honest — it’s not really about the braai.

It’s about the vibe around it.

Born from South African roots and fired up here on the Gold Coast, this whole thing started with a simple love for standing around a fire, cooking up a proper feed, and having a good time with good people.

If you ask my mates and family about the best times we’ve had, it usually involves me at the braai — tongs in hand, smoke everywhere, probably telling someone they’re doing it wrong… and a cold brandy close by.

Braaing isn’t just throwing meat on the grill. There’s a bit of an art to it.

You’ve got to pick your cuts right — whether it’s the missus’ sweet pork rashers, my daughter smashing lamb chops, or my son hitting back some solid steaks. Then comes the flavour — and this is where things get interesting.

Sometimes it’s bold and spicy, sometimes sweet, sometimes a bit tangy — and sometimes just whatever I feel like throwing together on the day. That’s how things like my smokey BBQ spice, snotklap spice, and a proper rich bourbon sauce came to life.

No rules — just big flavour.

And then there’s the fire. Getting it just right, not rushing it, waiting for those coals… and that magic moment when the meat hits the grill and you hear that sizzle.

That’s the good stuff.
